Illinois’ Back to School Sales Tax holiday is here, beginning on Friday, August 7th and extending through the end of the day on Sunday, August 16th. Families looking to purchase qualifying clothing and school supply items will notice the State’s portion of the sales tax rate will drop from 6.25% to 1.25%, reducing the sales tax by 5% during those ten days.
