Today HJR 69 was presented on the House Floor. The measure calls on the President to allow the DHS Secretary to establish a program that would issue work permits to undocumented immigrants in Illinois. The measure was adopted after some debate, without a House Floor vote.
We asked that the roll be called so we Representatives could do our job and vote on this measure, but it was denied. This is just another example of how our government likes to keep constituents in the dark and show lack of transparency on issues.
