Schweizer to Host Prescription Drug Drop Off with Rantoul Police Department

DANVILLE, IL… State Representative Brandun Schweizer (R-Danville) is co-hosting a Prescription Drug Drop Off Event with the Rantoul Police Department on August 27th, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Rantoul Police Department, 109 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul.

This is a free outdoor event that allows residents to stay in their vehicles while safely disposing of unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs. Residents are asked to please place medication in a sealed plastic bag.

“I am encouraging residents of the 104th District to take part in this event to safely dispose of medications they no longer need. I am proud to partner with the Rantoul Police Department to keep unused and unwanted medications out of the wrong hands and to make sure it stays out of our water supply,” said Rep. Schweizer.

Accepted medications include tablets, capsules, and other solid forms of prescription drugs, any patches, vaping devices, and cartridges. Lithium batteries must be removed from devices. Restricted items include liquids, including intravenous solutions, syringes, needles, and illegal drugs.

Medication can be dropped off at the front of the police department along Grove Avenue. Brochures on state programs will also be available. With questions, please reach out to Rep. Schweizer’s office at (217) 477-0104 or visit repschweizer.com
