DANVILLE, IL… State Representative Brandun Schweizer (R-Danville) issued the following release after learning that the DLO Musical Theatre in Danville was selected as a recipient of a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.
“The DLO Musical Theatre has been a great source of talent and enjoyment for generations and I am pleased to hear that the Illinois Arts Council selected them as a grant recipient,” said Rep. Schweizer. “The arts are incredibly important to our area, and I am always happy to support them however I can.”
The DLO Musical Theatre received $2,500 from the Illinois Arts Council and will be using the funds to pay for general operating expenses. The theatre has been around since 1956 and was originally named the Danville Light Opera and is the oldest community musical theatre in the Vermilion County community, putting on multiple shows throughout the year.
