Schweizer Hosts Westville’s Girls Softball Team at the Capitol to Congratulate Their Winning

SPRINGFIELD, IL… State Representative Brandun Schweizer (R-Danville) invited the Westville Wildcats to the Illinois Capitol on Wednesday to congratulate the junior high girls’ softball team on winning the 2025 IESA Class 2A State Championship.

“Congratulations to the Westville Junior High girls’ softball team,” said Rep. Schweizer. “The players have made tremendous effort, with their overall record for the last two seasons of the IESA being 44-1. I am proud of the Westville Wildcats’ work and can’t wait to see what they achieve next year.”

The players, coached by Matt Darling and Ed Barney, were given a tour of the Illinois House Floor, recognized during Session in the Speaker’s Gallery in the Illinois House of Representatives, and given official Illinois House of Representatives certificates to commemorate their achievement.
