DANVILLE, IL… State Representative Brandun Schweizer was named one of the Prairie State Policy Champions by Americans for Prosperity-Illinois (AFP-IL). Lawmakers named were leading advocates on reining in government spending, reducing Illinois’ tax burden, and protecting homeschoolers and educational choice.
“I am pleased to be named one of the Prairie State Policy Champions by Americans for Prosperity,” said Rep. Schweizer. “The spring and Veto Sessions proved once again to be the most expensive and invasive in Illinois history. I am proud of the record I have built, standing up for taxpayers and standing against overregulation. Illinoisans need leaders who will defend their rights and prioritize affordability, which is something I have been committed to since taking office. I want to thank AFP-IL for continuing to advocate for taxpayers and recognizing the efforts of lawmakers working to do the same.”
AFP-IL State Director Jason Heffley applauded the Policy Champions for their hard work in Springfield.
“AFP-IL is dedicated to advancing policy that helps empower Illinoisians by reducing red tape and government overreach, beginning in the state legislature,” said Heffley. “Each of the Prairie State policy champions celebrated by AFP showcased principled leadership that stood up for Illinois taxpayers despite pressure from far-left interests in Springfield.”
“AFP-IL looks forward to celebrating these lawmakers in their home districts and continuing to advance our joint mission in the Land of Lincoln,” concluded Heffley.
Rep. Schweizer was among 30 legislators selected as Prairie State Policy Champions.
