Schweizer Launches Summer Reading Program, Invites K-5 Grade Students to Join

DANVILLE, IL… State Representative Brandun Schweizer (R-Danville) is announcing the launch of his Summer Reading Program for the third year in a row. This year’s theme is “Plant a Seed, Read.”

“I am excited to offer my summer reading program again after such a phenomenal turnout last year,” said Rep. Schweizer. “Reading is instrumental to everyday life, and I am happy to help encourage our students to continue reading, even during the summer months.”

To participate in Rep. Schweizer’s program, Kindergarten through 5th grade students who live in or attend school in the 104th District must read eight books and have a parent or guardian submit the list to Rep. Schweizer. Books over 150 pages count for two books and books read for other summer reading programs may count here.

Students who received brochures can submit reading lists by mailing them in to Rep. Schweizer at 3821 N. Vermilion Ste. 5, Danville, IL 61832. To submit online, visit RepSchweizer.com and navigate to “Summer Reading,” nested under the Resources tab. Once all submissions are collected, invitations will be sent to students who participated to join Rep. Schweizer for a summer reading celebration to take place in late summer.

The program begins on May 15th and runs through July 15th. With any questions or to request a pdf copy of the summer reading program, please reach out to Rep. Schweizer at (217) 477-0104.
