Schweizer Hosts Local Leaders for Annual Women to Watch Conference in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, IL… State Representative Brandun Schweizer (R-Danville) hosted Amber Gouard and Alayna Ramirez-Alfaro for this year’s annual Women to Watch Conference in Springfield, a networking event put on by the Illinois House Republican women legislators.

“I am thrilled to have such amazing women leaders in the 104th District that provide so much to their communities,” said Rep. Schweizer. “Amber and Alayna are both exceptional examples of women to watch. They continue to lead and thrive in their careers and our community. This event was an excellent opportunity for Amber and Alayna to network and learn with fellow women leaders.”

Amber serves as the principal at Liberty Elementary in Danville, one of the schools in the Danville Community Consolidated School District that serves students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Alayna is an independent insurance agent and also works as a doula for Brightpoint, a nonprofit organization that provides various services to families, children, and youth in the Champaign area.

The women were invited to Springfield for a one-day conference that included a breakfast, a tour of the Capitol Complex, a networking lunch, and a panel discussion from women leaders. Amber and Alayna accompanied women from all over the state for the event.
