POLICE & FIRE MEMORIALS, HR 723, SESSION RECAP & MORE

In the House, we are scheduled to adjourn on Friday. With that being said, the House still has legislation to vote on and a budget to craft within the next week.

SESSION

The House of Representatives adjourned Friday, until Monday, May 20th.

This week will be a busy one here in the House. To watch the House Floor live, visit the Illinois General Assembly website, and click “Audio/Video”, which is nested under “House”. The schedule for Session is also available under “Schedules”, nested under “House”.

Here is the calendar for the remainder of the Spring session.

HR 723: WIOAs

My resolution, HR 723 made it out of the Labor and Commerce committee unanimously.

House Resolution 723 calls on the Federal Government to maintain funding for job training. With the recent news of Quaker Oats closing, WIOAs are in high demand in the area.

FIREFIGHTER MEMORIAL AND CEREMONY

This past Tuesday, the Firefighter Memorial and Honor Ceremony was held at the Bank of Springfield to honor the firefighters who lost their lives, as well as honor firefighters who went above and beyond their duties.

Thank you to the brave men and women who serve and protect our communities.

IN THE DISTRICT: POLICE CEREMONIES

While I was in Springfield, my office was able to attend the police memorial ceremonies happening in the District.

Champaign Police, Police Memoir Memorials, and All County Memorial services occurred last week.

Thank you to those who sacrificed it all and those that continue to do so to keep our communities safe.

EMS WEEK | MAY 19TH-25TH

EMS Week honors the important work of all Emergency Medical Service workers. Their continued work saves lives and helps our communities every day. Thank you to EMS workers for all that you do!
